WatchGuard's Unified Threat Management solutions, with WatchGuard Dimension, drives down cost and improves overall network visibility for real-time threat identification.

SEATTLE -- March 26, 2014 -- WatchGuard Technologies, a leader in integrated security platforms, today announced that the Carol Morgan School, one of the Dominican Republic's leading non-profit, private K-12 grade schools, is using WatchGuard's Unified Threat Management (UTM) platforms with WatchGuard Dimension to secure its network and manage student access to online resources and applications.

"WatchGuard's solutions are so simple to use, and the single pane of glass makes managing and setting new policies easy, with round-the-clock information," said Harold Ortiz, CTO at the Carol Morgan School. "Given the structure of our network, we have various WatchGuard appliances that deliver different elements of UTM functionality at different parts of the network. We're always aware of what's happening with our infrastructure and now with the addition of WatchGuard Dimension, we can produce detailed and accurate reports for other members of senior management. And, if we need immediate insight, we can access the dashboard and reports from any Internet-connected device."

Carol Morgan School's institutional goal is to have reliable, multi-layered security, which requires solutions that are easy to deploy and manage, with real-time reporting features. Network intrusions are one of the biggest security challenges for the school, and keeping student and faculty information secure and private is vital. WatchGuard's UTM solutions not only deliver defense in depth to the school, but also gives them instant visibility into key security and usage information so the team can immediately respond to threats and set new security policies.

Throughout the systems-upgrade process, CSTISA (Consultores en Seguridad Tecnologica e Informatica), a local reseller, played an integral part in helping with the installation and rollout. "The security landscape can be complicated, but working with CSTISA and WatchGuard helped ensure seamless transitions," said Ortiz. "WatchGuard's expertise in the educational industry really helped us get the ultimate value out of our UTM solution: protection, control and real-time visibility."
