SEATTLE – December 19, 2011. WatchGuard® Technologies, a global leader in business security solutions, today announced that it received ICSA certification in the Network Firewalls category for WatchGuard XTM OS-based UTM appliances and next-generation firewalls. This certification spans WatchGuard's mainstream line of XTM appliances – from the award-winning small business XTM 5 series to the enterprise-class XTM 1050.

"ICSA certification is a hallmark of quality that many businesses look for when evaluating and purchasing IT solutions," said Tim Helming, Director of Product Management at WatchGuard Technologies. "Having this new ICSA certification is a testament to WatchGuard's engineering prowess and commitment to quality."

WatchGuard – XTM Network Security

WatchGuard XTM (extensible threat management) appliances combine "defense-in-depth" threat protection, advanced networking features and granular management and reporting functions in one, easy to own device. With 15 models to choose from, businesses with 50 to 5,000 users have access to the optimal security solution for their needs.

WatchGuard offers seven add-on security services for its XTM firewall appliances, including: Application Control, WebBlocker, Gateway Antivirus, Reputation Enabled Defense, spamBlocker, Intrusion Prevention and LiveSecurity.

One of the latest features available in WatchGuard's XTM security appliances is the ability to create secure connectivity for Apple mobile products, specifically iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch® devices. This helps businesses address the ever-growing challenge of securing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) in corporate environments.

Additionally, WatchGuard attributes their top position to having solutions that improve business productivity. For example, with WatchGuard Application Control, businesses gain in-depth, granular control over Web 2.0 applications, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and hundreds more. Not only does WatchGuard Application Control protect against the next-generation of threats that target these popular applications, now businesses can rein in how individual employees use such applications, directly from the firewall.

Another innovation that keeps WatchGuard on top is its cloud-based security service, Reputation Enabled Defense. Reputation Enabled Defense gives businesses and their employees cloud protection against viruses, malware, spyware, keyloggers, botnets and other web-based threats, in addition to faster, more productive web surfing experiences.
